A note to my Nate.
You are so precious and so precocious!
I said to your daddy after an evening meal this birthday week, "I would have thought 'Mugoo' would be in a different phase by his 4 yr birthday."
I remember saying over a year ago, "We just need to hold on until three--let's just get to three." Now, I find myself saying, "Hold on until he's five!"
Oh, what the Lord has planned for you (if only I had a glimpse)!
You are a joy to have around. Your smile and excitement for everyday things brings me pleasure. I enjoy watching you play and LOVE listening to you sing. Here are some things about your life these days...

Oh, what the Lord has planned for you (if only I had a glimpse)!
You are a joy to have around. Your smile and excitement for everyday things brings me pleasure. I enjoy watching you play and LOVE listening to you sing. Here are some things about your life these days...
- You LOVE to play on the piano
- You LOVE your stomp rocket
- You LOVE your "blank" and "Turt"
- You LOVE to abbreviate words--today, your flip-flips were, "Flips" and PaPa was "Pop" and YaYa was "Ya".
- You call Shredded wheat "Sugar Pillows" and you LOVE to eat them dry
- You LOVE your marble-race game
- You are very fearful of search lights in the sky and the spa light (not the two big pool lights)
- You LOVE to funnel things back and forth into containers
- You LOVE Dr. Pepper soda, and call it "Pep"
- You LOVE to "Hold You" (snuggle with me).
- You LOVE to smell things (deodorant, candles, blankets, mommy, soap)
- You LOVE re fried beans, broccoli, hot dogs (not cut up or in a bun), 'special milk' (vanilla soy), peanut butter and honey sandwiches, olives, chicken, turkey, pita chips, smooth yogurt, applesauce with a sprinkle of cinnamon, pizza eggs, poached eggs on toast, cottage cheese...you will almost always try something once.
- You do NOT like regular milk, cheese, yogurt with "chunks", carrots, mac n cheese, spaghetti, quesadilla, (a lot of what Emily eats)...
You are a handful with your short temper and loud frustrated screeches. But, I love you to the end.
P.S. Daddy keeps reassuring me it's still "only a phase".
Since your birthday fell on a Wednesday there were several activities taking place...but here is a recap of our day together this 5/7/08:
- 7:30am-woke up to mommy and Emily singing happy birthday with a candle for you to blow out. Breakfast also had a candle in it
- 9am-take Emily to pre-school
- 12pm-get Emily from pre-school, head to Chuck E. Cheese's
- 5pm-daddy's home, head to Chili's for dinner (first time)--you ordered off the kids menu, "a corn dog with broccoli". You ate it all!
- 6:30pm-Cubbies promotion at PBC
- 7:15pm-Rite Aid for 'rainbow sherbet' on a cone
- 7:45pm-opened your birthday gift (stomp rocket) and played with it together out side
- 8:15pm-good night my precious birthday boy

Thanks for sharing the photos and all about Nate's special day. It made me hungry to read through the foods that he loves!
Your baby is four!
Wow! He's four! Time sure moves by quickly.
Happy Birthday, Nathan! Being 4 is so fun! (And yes - with our 4 boys, we've been through that phase quite a few times. It gets better!) Hope to see you guys when we come out this summer. I think the kids would have a ball together.
The ice cream cone photo is great! lol
Connor turns 4 in August. He sounds just like Nathan!
