Please Pray

Hi Friends and Family,
I would like to ask for prayer on a situation that happened today that has me a bit shook up.
I came home from visiting my grandma's house this afternoon and after 15-20 minutes of being upstairs putting laundry away, I went down stairs to put somethings away in the little bathroom. I noticed that the wood blinds were all twisted up and down and pushed away from the window and that the window was slightly ajar. I did not think much about the window being open (Jeff will open the windows in the mornings to let in some cool fresh air) but the blinds were perplexing.
Then a few minutes later, I went to throw some trash away outside and noticed that the same little bathroom window's screen was pulled off. Another thing I noticed when I first got home was that the screen door on the back slider was slightly open (but I had locked the glass slider door). I typically make sure that the screen door is either all the way open or closed when I shut the glass door, so I suspected someone tried to check the door to see if it was open or locked.
I called Jeff and he encouraged me to call the police and mentioned that he was close to being home--yeah! So, I hung up and called the Sheriff's dept. and they came out and searched the property. They were not too concerned--they even asked if we have problems with raccoons or other nigh animals. Now I wonder if they even noticed the shoe prints on the air compressor under the window!
However, just before dinner, I went to use the potty down stairs and noticed a boot print on the toilet lid. I asked Jeff if he noticed it and he had not.
So, our conclusion is that some one attempted to come in the house through the open window and got half way in (at least) with a leg. There was only one print as if someone had stepped on the lid to get in then pulled back out. No smudging or exiting prints. All the other doors were locked.
Maybe they heard me coming or going and ran off? Not sure.
Nothing was taken, except our feeling of safety (for a time).
Would you please pray for me as I settle into a new awareness of safety and that of our children?
Also, for the person(s) that were here?
In appreciation for your time in prayer regarding this matter.

I can imagine how unsettling this situation would be. I remember that "violated" feeling from a time when someone broke into our garage at the condo and then did some damage in the car trying to remove a CD player. I could tell that they went through the glove box, etc., and it was very upsetting! The difference from your situation was that the garage was detached from the condo unit, so they did not have access to our home.

I will pray for your peace of mind, and I'm grateful that you're all o.k.!

So sorry you're having to deal with this. We got a security system after someone tried to get into our house while we were out on a date and our kids were home with a babysitter. I know how unnerving that can be. We'll keep you in our prayers.
