Gash on the head, a fat lip, and a chipped tooth...

...what more could a mother ask for in a 21 mo. old son and in one day?!

Yesterday we met a friend at the park and I brought along Nathan's toy walker, we call the "pusher". Well, there was an area by the picnic tables that had a strip of dirt and gravel around some BBQ's. As he was walking with the pusher he was watching his feet (thus not looking ahead) and walked straight into/under one of the iron BBQ's and put a nice hole in his skin on the top of his head. He proceeded to do this (bump into the BBQ's) 2 more times! Thankfully, he only really hurt his head once, the other times, he rubbed it off and went his way.

Last night I decided to take the kids out front to run some stink out of them while Jeff was on his way home. It was nice and quiet for a few minutes, and then 2 of the neighbor kids came over and started to interact with Emily and Nathan. They are a few years older than Em & Nate. The older of the two was playing with Nathan as I stood and watched about 15 feet away. He then picked Nathan up and was hugging him while spinning around, and around, and around--probably 15-20 times. He then put Nathan down on his feet, and due to the dizziness, SMACK down! He landed face first on a down hill concrete driveway. Thus, cutting his upper lip, bruising his right front tooth, and chipping his left tooth--dripping blood down his shirt onto his pants, it was a mess. This all happened as I saw and anticipated what was to come; I was 2 seconds too slow--just a body length away. Ugh!

It still turns my stomach to replay the scene in my mind. I am still distraught about it. I will be reminded of that moment every time Nathan smiles for the next 4 years.

I would like prayer for a day to go by with out the drama! :-)

He sure is living up to the stereotype: ALL BOY!

So sorry that this happened.

Do you remember when our little lady fell of the dining table bench (face first) onto the laminate floor? Her two front teeth were loose, with slight bleeding, and eventual discoloration of her gums.

Thankfully, the teeth seemed to have "re-set" themselves and no more discoloration.
