Emily Excerpts

For a long while now, well, since Emily was amusing us with words (at 18 mo. old), my father has been prodding me to "write these things down cause you are going to forget them". Is that not the truth!
So now, from time to time you may see some " " from our children on the blog. These are mostly for my documentation, so that "I won't forget" but you may get a kick out of them too.

The scene:
We had just arrived home from a quick 4-day cruise (more about that to come). Right off the bat I see Emily pale and pink eyed with a runny nose and bad sounding cough. Uggghhhh. After nap time, we cleaned everyone up and then packed up the kids to run some errands together. We are sitting in the shoe area of Sport Chalet...

Mom to Emily, "I am so sorry that you are sick."

Emily to mom, "Don't worry, it's my pleasure."

Here's one you would appreciate. I can't seem to remember exactly the last time Isabel and I visited you at your house, but you had said to Emily, "have a happy heart." I can't remember the context, but one thing I remember that it was long ago. Anyway, this was just last month (I know because it was after Valentines) here it goes:

Me: "I'm so frustrated...this is not happening..."

Isabel: "It's OK mama, I'll take care of you...have a happy heart!...Emily's mom said so!"

Shocking isn't it!!!
