A Tribute to Our Friends in AZ

This past weekend, we drove to south/east Phoenix to visit with some dear friends who we met when they first were living in CA.
When I think of Curtis and Vicki I think of the love that the Lord has for me. They were God's answer to my prayers.
Around 1998 I was praying fervently for Jeff to be in contact with a Christian man at work; someone I did not set him up with and someone that was in his life on a daily basis. Not long after, Jeff asked to have a guy from work and his fiance over for dinner one evening.
I will not soon forget that first introduction with both Curtis and Vicki in our town home. It wasn't long into the evening that I realized my answered prayer.
Years have past since that first evening and we have continued to share dozens of dinners, BBQ's, the births of our children, highs and lows, vacations, promotions, job changes, and moves; I find that when we are reunited (more rarely now due to the distance) we can pick up right where we left off.
I appreciate and admire their humor, love, kindness, hospitality, the raising of their children, and the drive they have to make 'it' work. I (we) am honored to call both of them my dear friends (and I can speak for Jeff).
I naturally have a hard time saying good-bye...but leaving the McFarland home to come home, was extremely bitter-sweet.

Thanks Curtis and Vicki for your loving hospitality.

"Oh Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth." Isaiah 25:1
