A good friend of mine told me that she was taking her daughter (6 mos older than Em) to see Beauty & the Beast at the Glendale Centre Theatre and asked if we would like to join them. I thought out loud, "Oh, how fun! I had not yet considered doing something like that but, why not?!"
Another good friend of mine took her daughter the week before, and my she gave me a heads-up on some loud could-be startling noises & scenes. She also lent us her daughter's dress-up gown. So, Saturday morning we woke and got dressed in the gown, curled some blond locks, and off we went to the theatre. Emily had a great time twirling on the dance floor with her "wand" of ribbon curls.

We made it through the first half, startled a bit by the lights and flashes. Within 5 minutes of the second half she was VERY upset and wanted to go in the car. Not wanting to miss the show myself and thinking about the cost and the length of the drive, I held her on my lap in hopes we could make it through. Nope.
As surreptitious as I could I crept down the stairs, across the stage floor and out of the theatre. Emily was quickly relieved to see that the world was a happy and bright sunny place still.
We ended our outing with lunch, treated by YaYa. Thank you!!

The dress looks great on Emily! I'm glad you were able to make it work. Have a great 4th of July!
