Happy Fall!

...or as some say, Happy Halloween!!

This year (as we have the past few) we have walked the neighborhood. In the past it has been with a group of friends and their friends.
We ended up walking separately this year and spent a lot of time walking.
On Friday, I stopped in at VONS and picked up several bags of candy...all at 50% off. I picked up a large mixed bag of pops, Tootsie, chews...and then about 6 or so more small bags that were my favorites (Skittles, Raisonets, Milkyway, Snickers, Twix, Peanut Butter Cups). I could not resist--they were $1.88 a bag!
While I was in line a "healthy" looking lady behind me comments, "Did you wait to buy out of resisting the temptation to eat it before tonight, that's what I do?" I said, "No, I just did not get around to it until now and fortunately it's all discounted."
She then replies, "That sure is a lot of candy!"
Under my polite smile, I scoffed (as if she knows how much we give away or how busy our house is or is not...)
When evening came, we walked and walked and walked. We were out for 2+ hours. The 2+ PRIME hours.
It did not occur to me until later to leave candy out (but then it would have been taken within several minutes) or have Jeff or I stay to pass out candy.
So, when we get back to the house at around 8:15ish, to my dismay we had only about 5 or so 'Trick or Treaters' before we turned in.

So now, all I can think about is the lady commenting how much candy I have, the temptation that is filling 2 large baskets in my home, and the humility of that entire exchange!!
